Our Communities
Lee County is made up of communities with distinct histories, landscapes, development patterns and visions for their futures. From rural and agricultural areas to coastal islands and established neighborhoods, what works for one community might not be right for another.
That is why residents worked with Lee County over nearly four decades to develop Community Plans
Lee County’s proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan (the Lee Plan) and Land Development Code (LDC) would affect these communities in different ways. Some existing protections would remain, some would be moved to other parts of the Lee Plan or Land Development Code, and others would be changed or eliminated altogether.
Explore the communities below to learn what makes each one unique and compare its current Community Plan protections with what Lee County is proposing.
