Olga is a small rural community along the south side of the Caloosahatchee River in northeastern Lee County, between Fort Myers Shores and Alva. Large properties, mature vegetation and a quieter development pattern give the area a distinctly rural atmosphere despite its relatively short distance from downtown Fort Myers.

The Caloosahatchee shapes both the landscape and community life. Residents have access to river recreation, local parks and nearby facilities such as the W.P. Franklin South Recreation Area, while historic places such as Olga Park and its community center contribute to the area’s identity.

As growth moves farther into eastern Lee County, protecting Olga’s rural setting, natural resources and established neighborhoods while accommodating necessary infrastructure and transportation improvements remains an important planning challenge.
